The Mobility Bridge — Charity Concept!

Comprehensive Mission Statement

  • At The Locomotion Bridge we specialize in locating abandoned and lost animals specifically dogs, and either returning them to their owners or if they are abandoned instead of bringing them to the pound we will train them as service animals mainly to guide blind people to get around, so they both can have a higher quality of life. We are also dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can move freely and safely. With enough funding we aim to provide inclusive and accessible transportation solutions, innovative support services, and partner with organizations that promote assistive technology for the blind and deaf as well as movement and health. By bridging the gap for individuals facing mobility challenges and collaborating with like-minded nonprofits and cooperations, we strive to create a world where mobility is a right, not a privilege.

Core Services:

  • 1. Accessible Transportation for All:

  • - Rides to Work: Provide a subsidized or free ride-sharing service for low-income individuals who struggle to afford transportation to and from work. We eventually want to build an app called “Dollar Line Transport” basically a cheaper version of Uber, to help with this. This will ensure that economic barriers do not hinder employment opportunities.

  • - Medical Appointment Transport: Offer safe and reliable transportation for individuals needing to attend medical appointments, including the elderly, disabled, and those in rural or underserved areas who lack access to transportation.

  • 2. Emergency Assistance:

  • - Stranded or Stuck Individuals: Establish an emergency hotline and mobile app to assist those who find themselves stranded due to transportation issues, providing immediate help to get them safely to their destination.

  • - Designated Driver Service: Run a designated driver program for special events, ensuring that individuals unable to drive themselves home due to impairment or disability can enjoy social occasions without worry.

  • 3. Support for Parents and the Elderly:

  • - Stroller Assistance: Partner with public transit systems to offer on-site help for mothers with strollers, ensuring they can easily navigate buses, trains, and stations without physical strain.

  • - Elderly Support: Provide volunteers or staff to assist elderly individuals with navigating stairs, elevators, and other public infrastructure, ensuring their safety and comfort in public spaces.

  • 4. Customized Mobility Solutions:

  • - Disability-Friendly Transport: Operate a fleet of specially equipped vehicles to meet the unique needs of individuals with physical disabilities, including wheelchair-accessible vans and vehicles with specialized seating for those with mobility impairments.

  • - Visual and Hearing Impairment Support: Tailor transportation services for the blind and deaf, including vehicles with communication aids, guide assistance, as well as assistive devices to improve independent movement and hearing so the blind and deaf can independently walk around their environment safely. Trained drivers who understand their specific needs will also be deployed.

  • 5. Rescue of animals and Training of some of them into Service Dogs:

  • - Service Dog Program: Rescue abandoned dogs and train them as service animals to assist blind and visually impaired individuals. These dogs will help their handlers navigate their environments safely and confidently, offering both practical support and companionship.

  • - Partnerships with Shelters: Collaborate with animal shelters to identify suitable dogs for training, giving these animals a new purpose while enhancing the independence of those they assist.

  • 6. Partnerships with Locomotion and Movement-Focused Charities:

  • - Collaborative Fundraising Events: Partner with nonprofits and charities that organize locomotion-based activities—like sports competitions to support members in need of help. Activities such as but not limited to, running, swimming, dancing, biking, hiking, and walking events—to raise funds for individuals in need of transportation, financial hardship, or mobility assistance.

  • - Health and Wellness Initiatives: Collaborate on initiatives that promote physical health through movement, encouraging community participation in activities that not only keep people healthy but also raise awareness and funds for mobility-related causes.

  • - Community Engagement Through Movement: Support and co-host events that align with our mission, bringing together communities to move for a cause, whether it’s a charity run, a bike ride, or a hike for health.

  • 7. Education and Advocacy:

  • - Mobility Training Programs: Offer training for volunteers and community members on how to assist those with mobility challenges, raising awareness and fostering a more inclusive community.

  • - Advocacy for Infrastructure Improvements: Work with local governments and organizations to financially invest in organizations aligned with our objectives by using grants if funds are available at the discretion of board of directors and other methods to push for better infrastructure, such as ramps, elevators, and accessible transit options, as well as assistive devices, making cities and towns more navigable for everyone.

  • Community Engagement:

  • - Volunteer Network: Build a robust volunteer network to assist in delivering services, from driving to providing physical assistance on public transit, helping with service dog training, or supporting locomotion-based fundraising events.

  • - Corporate Partnerships: Partner with businesses and corporations to sponsor services, provide funding, or offer employee volunteer programs.

  • - Fundraising and Donations: Launch regular fundraising campaigns, encouraging the public to support the cause through donations, sponsorships, and participation in charity events, especially those centered around physical movement and health.

  • Impact Goals:

  • - Enhanced Mobility: Empower individuals with mobility challenges, helping them live more independently and confidently navigate their communities.

  • - Service Animal Support: Increase access to trained service dogs for the blind, improving their quality of life and ensuring their safety and independence.
