Grant Tiers:
1. High-Commitment Grants:
- Eligibility: Companies whose projects are specifically focused on developing assistive devices that enable the blind and deaf to navigate independently, translate languages to sound for the blind, or provide visual interpretations for the deaf.
- Funding Amount: Up to $35,000 CAD.
- Conditions:
- Companies must agree to repay the full grant amount if their project succeeds.
- Additionally, a 15% donation to Locomotion Bridge based on the grant amount is required if the project achieves commercial success.
- A detailed project proposal and financial forecast must be submitted, demonstrating the feasibility and alignment with the nonprofit's mission.
- Regular progress reports and a final impact assessment are mandatory.
2. Moderate-Commitment Grants:
- Eligibility: Companies whose projects align with the broader goals of Locomotion Bridge but do not specifically focus on the high-commitment objectives.
- Funding Amount: Up to $15,000 CAD.
- Conditions:
- No repayment or donation required, but preference is given to companies that show a willingness to contribute a portion of their profits to the nonprofit if successful.
- A project proposal demonstrating alignment with the nonprofit’s objectives is required.
